My Dream Book Nook

Hi Friends!

I have been asked, If I had my dream reading space, what would it look like?

If you know me, you know I watch way too much time watching HGTV, and dreaming about my future house and what it’s going to look like. I love decorating rooms, which explains why I’m constantly redecorating mine! This task was so right up my alley.

For starters, I already have three large bookshelves overstuffed with books, that means in a couple years I’m going to have A LOT more. So were talking that I have lots of books. I’m going to need a whole room for my reading pleasure.. keep that in mind 🙂

  1. A Window Seat3bcacbb9ea332829d11b480c44780f63I’ve always loved the idea of a window seat. They’re just so stinkin cute. When I lived in my old house I had one and I took it for granted. I miss that thing more than anything. So a window seat is a MUST.
  2. BookshelfScreen Shot 2017-08-03 at 11.10.17 PM

I absolutely LOVE this one from Arhaus! It reminds me of a fairytale, like something you would see in a movie. It’s absolutely gorgeous, so yes this is also going into my book nook.

3.  Sofa

Screen Shot 2017-08-03 at 11.08.34 PM
Even with a window seat, we need some extra seating. What if I want to lay and read? This one looks perfect and cozy. Check out these sectionals from Arhaus!

4. Lighting

Definitely an essential if I want to see what I’m reading.. I love this light from Arhaus. I can’t explain to you why I like it, but it’s just so my style.

a59e2447af201fe1f41a660715c626f6 But I definitely love my fairy lights, these are essential as well.

5. Rugs

To make this place more cozy, rugs are a must! The first one is from Arhaus. I absolutely love the design. Now the second one, I’ve been SO into white fluffy rugs.. They’re so cozy and just cute!

5. Tapestry

Lastly, we need some decoration in this reading room. You can never go wrong with a tapestry, especially with some fairy lights! I love all three of these tapestries.

SO, thats my reading dream space! Be sure to check out as most of these items came from there.  I had so much fun doing this.

What’s in your dream reading space?

Thats it for this time!

A New Beginning

Holy Cow, It’s been a while. But here we are, July of 2017. My life is so crazy different from when I started this blog, I could go on and on about it. But heres all you need to know.

In college, I hit an all time high.. My life has never been better. BUT all at once, I also hit an all time low. Things have never been better, but things have also been terrible. I feel like thats just college for you. But in that, I couldn’t juggle EVERYTHING, so I let go of some hobbies. It isn’t as simple as that, there’s a lot more details that come into play. like the fact that I broke my foot, but that’s a story for another day. If y’all want to hear the details, we’ll talk.

I lost a lot of hobbies simply over having too much to do and not enough time… one of those hobbies was blogging. but one of the saddest, I stopped reading.

It’s summer now, I’ve missed it so much. SO I CAN SAY IN FULL CONFIDENCE I AM BACK!!!!

Good news here, my schedule next semester is so. Much. EASIER!!!!

I’m so pumped, I can’t wait to start up again. I honestly just have to learn how this whole blogging thing works all over again. But don’t worry I’ll catch up.

Answering these will help me so much to get back on my feet!

  • first of all, how have you been!?
  • What posts would you like to see from me?
  • What is your favorite book at the moment that has come out recently?
  • Who are your favorite bloggers? ( I need to follow more active peeps)

Peace and blessings,

IM BACK! Here’s a book haul!

OMG I FINALLY HAVE AN APARTMENT WITH WIFI!! I’m so excited! I’m done with my second week of classes, and overall things are going pretty well!

Okay we have a dangerous situation here… there is a Half Price Books less than 20 minutes away from me.. this is some dangerous business. I absolutely LOVE HPB and spend way too much money there.. but the books are discounted, how could I go wrong??

I recently took a trip there and found some books, so here they are! 🙂

img_3616 I’ve Got Your Number – Sophie Kinsella

I usually don’t think I would read a book like this, but I found it on clearance and I’ve been trying to broaden my horizons! I’ve heard good things about Sophie Kinsella and can’t wait to try her out!

img_3617 Beautiful Disaster- Jamie McGuire

I’ve heard mixed things about this book, people either love it or hate it! But once again I found it on clearance and decided to give it a go… We shall see how I feel about it.

img_3618 Cruel Beauty- Rosamund Hodge

This book has been on my wishlist for a while now but has never been a priority. I saw it on the shelf and it was super cheap so I just went for it! Hopefully I like it 🙂

img_3619 Emma – Jane Austen

LOOK HOW GORGEOUS THIS COPY IS. I had to get it.. I’m usually not huge on classics but I’ve been trying to get into them more!  Hopefully I like this, if not it’s gorgeous for my shelves!

img_3620 Heaven is for real- Todd Burpo

I’ve been wanting this book forever! My best friend read it and loved it so I wanted to also.. I’m so happy I finally have it. It seems like such a cute read 🙂

img_3621 The Long and Faraway Gone -Lou Berney

I’ve never heard of this book but I read the synopsis and it caught my attention! It was on clearance so I went ahead and got it. I usually don’t randomly buy books but I was feeling good about this one!

img_3622 The F It List – Julie Halpern

This has been on my wishlist ever since I saw it in Barnes and Noble! I just never wanted to spend full price, so I was so happy to find it at half price books! I cant wait to read it!

SO that was my most recent haul! Have you read any of these books? What did you think of them?? Are you as addicted to HPB as I am?

I’ll see you guys next time! 🙂

hey friends! so sorry I’ve been missing for this last week.

it’s story time!

so I chose a university 2 hours away, and last Thursday I found out I wasn’t getting a dorm because they ran out of room. I was terrified that I wouldn’t have a place to live considering I had a week before school started. thankfully, it’s all worked out! I’m all moved in and classes start tomorrow.

still a downside tho: the apartment doesn’t have wifi just yet, so I won’t be able to post until that is set up. ( I’m currently on my phone.) so hopefully I’ll be back within the next week!

Hey friends! Today I’m doing the You’re not good enough book tag, created by Chami From Read Like Wildfire on Booktube!

heres how it works: I have 30 characters in a jar, and I will pull two out for each question. I then have to pick which character would be best for the scenario and the which one is not good enough. This seems like a lot of fun! 🙂

1. You only have one more spot on your Spelling B team, who would you pick to complete your team?

Adrian From Vampire Academy & Maxon from The Selection

I think Maxon, for some reason I don’t think Adrian would be very good at a spelling bee.. Maybe Maxon would be a bit wiser.

Sorry Adrian, You’re not good enough!

2. Both characters want to kill you, which one would you kill first so you have a better chance of surviving?

Etienne From Anna and The French Kiss & Dawson Black

Oh no I’m so sad 😦 Etienne is a harmless little puppy so I feel like Dawson would be the first to kill me.. but he’s too nice.. but like Alien powers and such, he could totally kill me.

3. You’re on the bachelor/bachelorette an you’re down to these two characters, which one are you going to give your rose too?

Warner from Shatter Me & Dimitri from Vampire Academy

HANDS DOWN MY ROSE WOULD BE GOING TO DIMITRI. He is one of my all time favorite book boyfriends. He’s so cute and so intense and just overall so loving.

Warner, eh. not a huge fan of him.
4. You’ve been chosen for the Hunger Games, who would most likely volunteer in your place?

Andrew Thompson from The Lux Series & Adam from Shatter me

I think Andrew for this one… he’s overall pretty fearless and if he cared for me, he would definitely step up to help.
5. You’re stranded on an island. Which character would you sacrifice to engage in cannibalism?

America Singer and Sydney Sage

Okay first of all, I don’t like this question. So I’m going to change it to who I’m going to push off the island because theres not room for two.

I think I’m going to go with Sydney because she will be able to find her way back to shore.. lol
6. You’re the next DC/Marvel superhero (with your own tv show of course), who is your sidekick?

Levi From Fangirl or Laura Jean from To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before

OMG LEVI! He would be so much fun as a side kick!
7. You’re a manager of an Avocado admiring company, who would you fire for lack of communication skills?

Cath from Fangirl and Ryle from It Ends With Us

Trust me, Ryle likes to try and talk about things. Cath on the other hand, would probably be too involved in her fanfiction, so I guess it would be Cath! Sorry girl!
8. You’ve just finished a book in which your favorite character dies, which character is most likely to comfort you?

Ash Thompson from The Lux Series & Lily Bloom from It Ends With Us

Okay Ash hates everyone, so definitely not her. She’d probably laugh at my pain.. Lily is really sweet and caring so probably her!
9. Ugh, it’s high school. Who would most likely be part of the popular clique?

Rose Hathaway from Vampire Academy and Emmett Cullen from Twilight

I feel like both of them could be! but maybe Rose, she tends to like all kinds of people more.. she’s very talkative and people just seem to genuinely like her!
10. The day has arrived; you’re finally a year older! Who would have the nerve to forget your birthday?

Katy Swartz from the Lux Series & Jacob Black from Twilight

Ugh Probably Katy because she’s with Daemon.. Sad 😦
11. You’ve just found an upcoming booktube star? Who would most likely be?

Chaol from Throne of Glass and Emily from Since You’ve been gone.

Chaols probably too busy to have a booktube channel, and I could see Emily enjoying reading more.. So Emily!
12. Sleepover time! Unfortunately you can only invite one person, who would you invite?

Four from Divergent or Atlas from It Ends With Us

ATLAS FOR SURE. Atlas is one of my all time favorite characters. He took a bad situation and turned it around. He’s so genuine and kind and loving and ugh I want him to love me//and or be my best friend.

13. Bam, you’re pregnant. Who’s the father/mother?

Daemon Black from the Lux Series and Lissa from Vampire Academy

HOLY ALIEN BABIES! Daemon Black PLEASE. I’m so glad I got him for this question hahaha.
14. You’ve just written a super important text. Who would ‘see’ it, but not reply?

Celaena Sardothien from Throne of Glass and Peter from To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before

Probably Celaena… nothing personal but shes a busy girl.
15. You’ve just woken up and it’s time for breakfast. Your mum’s been replaced by..who?!

Adam Thompson and Dee Black from the Lux Series

Dee!!! Shes always trying to cook too so its perfect! Hi mom!

Thats it for the tag! I had so much fun doing it! I tag : Kourtni Reads Ohbookish sublimepages chicnerdreads Lauren WildFantasy AngelicReads

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Most Intimidating Series.

Top Ten Tuesday meme that was originally created by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic: REWIND Go back and do a topic from the past.

I chose Top Ten Most Intimidating series because theres so many I want to read, but I’m just nervous to get into it… Lets hop right in!

#1 Outlander by Diana Gabaldon

Okay, I know people love these books, but they’re freaking huge. I thought about starting the series, but just knowing me I feel as if I’ll never finish them considering how huge the books are… I’m very intimidated by these.

#2 Georgina Kincaid series by Richelle Mead

succubus series

I LOVED Richelle Mead’s  Vampire Academy & Bloodlines series, so much that I went and collected all of her books. I own all of the books in this series, but I have yet to start it. I think I’m worried that since I loved VA so much, that this won’t live up to it.

#3 The Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling

6358687438948837351524740332_harry potter.png

I KNOW I KNOW, its CRAZY I haven’t read Harry Potter yet.. As a kid I wasn’t huge on reading, but now it’s so hyped up I’m a little nervous. Plus, the books toward the end of the series are quite large. I know I’ll get to these eventually, but I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t intimidating.

#4 Falling Kingdoms by Morgan RhodesAllCovers

I’ve been interested in this series for a while now, but for some reason I’m intimidated to start it. It’s hyped up by some booktubers I watch, and I’m worried it wont live up to the hype. These are also books that I feel I have to be in the mood for, which I haven’t been yet.

#5 The Bronze Horseman Trilogy by Paulina Simons

I really want to read these books! They sound soo good to me. I’ve never read historical fiction before, so it would be a new thing for me. These books are also very large… I know I’ll probably like them, but just starting them is intimidating!

That’s my list! What books/ series intimidate you?! Have you read any of mine?

Let me know!

BookTalk: It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover *SPOILERS*

Okay, Just a fair warning, THERE ARE SPOILERS FOR THE BOOK IN THIS POST! If you haven’t read the book yet, I suggest you read it, and then come back here to talk about it with me. Trust me, you’ll need the therapy. If you’re contemplating reading it, check out my review here!

First of all, I would just like to point out that it’s 3:50AM and I’m here sobbing because of this book. Why not talk about it at a normal hour and go to sleep?? I don’t know.

I’m not quite sure that I’ll be able to put together a coherent thought, but I’m sure as hell going to try! I’m sure if you’ve read this book, you really feel my pain on this one.

Colleen Hoover made me fall in love, think life was perfect, all that and a bag of chips, then carved my heart out with a butter knife and slowly ripped it from my chest.

Okay, is that too dramatic? I’m sorry but that is really what it felt like. I think that is the perfect way to explain this book.

” Sometimes the one who loves you is the one who hurts you the most.” Reading this on the back of the book, I knew something was coming. Whether it was with Atlas or Ryle, I wasn’t sure. I had my predictions, If I’m being honest I thought Lily and Ryle would be happily together, and Atlas was going to come back wanting his lover back and taking out anyone he needed to in the process. I also had my predictions about Ryle, I looked into possible foreshadowings and remembered them talking about suicide on the roof. I’m sad my mind went there, but those two were my options of what could have happened.

I’m glad that every character is still alive and well.

I wanted everything to work out perfectly with Ryle, I so desperately wanted it to be the case. I loved the idea of it all. Lily & Ryle had a little niece, Allysa being Ryles sister AND Lilys best friend? It was the perfect scenario.. It was so sad that it didn’t turn out that way.

Domestic abuse is a subject that has always bothered me more than other things, so reading this novel was a hard and eye opening. It brought scared and dark feelings, but I’m so glad that Colleen Hoover was able to create this and bring awareness to the situation.

Even though I loved Ryle, I also loved Atlas. He was so sweet and such a genuine character, and he was always there when needed. I think we all need an Atlas in our lives. The transformation he made throughout the years is truly inspiring, and even though he is fictional, I think he can give everyone a little ounce of hope.

Lily is by far one of my favorite female characters. She has a good head on her shoulders, and knows what she wants. When put in a tough situation, she was so strong and pulled through. With most novels, the girls let ” love” win when they should walk away. Lily was able to walk away when the one she loved the most broke her. I admire her so much for that.

I think the part that messed me up was after Lily gave birth to Emerson, ( first of all, her name is perfect) but then she tells him immediately she wants a divorce. ” What would you do if she came to you and said her boyfriend was hitting her but he promised he would never do it again?” God damn, it broke me. it is so so real.

This talk is messy and unorganized, but oops. Here comes the more messy, but heres somethings I added post it notes to in my book to talk about later:

  • The letters Lily wrote to Ellen, I loved the idea of this. I had always been one to want to express my feelings but I didn’t like the idea of diaries. My alternative, was writing letters to the ones who hurt me, and never mailing or sending them. The way Lily wrote hers to Ellen, made me be able to relate. I loved these parts of the book. I think it explained the past well.
  • The second Allysa mentioned a brother, I knew it was ” The boy from the roof” it made me excited.
  • Also , I’ve sprained my ankle three times now.. I never had a cute neurosurgeon help me :/ so sad.
  • ” Maybe love isn’t something that comes full circle, it just ebbs and flows, in and out, just like the people in our lives.” this sentence got to me, not only in the context of the book, but in real life.

I know theres so much more to talk about, but if I want to go to bed anytime soon I need to chill. Even though it broke me, I loved this book. It gave me a new perspective.

What did you think of it? what was your favorite parts? what would you like to talk about?? Leave me a comment!

xoxo Megan

Review: It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover * SPOILER FREE*

I’m writing this at 3:20 am, with tears in my eyes and a heavy heart. I’ll be posting this later, but I need to get my thoughts out now.

This review will be spoiler free, but I may do a book talk later. Let me know if you’d be interested in that!

Sometimes it is the one who loves you who hurts you the most.

Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town in Maine where she grew up—she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. So when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily’s life suddenly seems almost too good to be true.

Ryle is assertive, stubborn, maybe even a little arrogant. He’s also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily. And the way he looks in scrubs certainly doesn’t hurt. Lily can’t get him out of her head. But Ryle’s complete aversion to relationships is disturbing. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his “no dating” rule, she can’t help but wonder what made him that way in the first place.

As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan—her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.

Wow. Just wow. I’m having a hard time putting together a coherent thought to explain how this book has made me feel, and how it has affected me. I’m just going to hop right on into it.

This being a contemporary book, usually plot is lacking. This time, it was not. There was always something happening,  always making me want more, and making me not being able to put the book down. The characters go through every emotion in the book, as well as going through struggles you may think is impossible to overcome.

It’s hard for me to read a book and genuinely enjoy all of the characters. In this case, I liked most of them. Even the ones I disliked, they were very important to the story. They had to be there. The main character, Lily, is the full package. She is smart, funny, witty, and just overall a well rounded character. She isn’t your typical love struck girl. Then theres Allysa, who is a side character, but she’s definitely one of my all time favorites.

The pacing was overall good. There wasn’t a time where I thought anything was happening too slow or too fast, it was just perfect.

Ah it’s so hard for me to talk about, I can’t put it into words. Let’s just say that.

As this book isn’t fantasy, it takes place in a real town. Boston, MA. I think it was perfect for the story that was being told, as it was open to possibilities.

Colleen Hoover never fails in this department. There were multiple times where I was literally laughing out loud, swooning, squealing, oh and one more thing, CRYING. Colleen has a way of writing things that always strikes my emotion, where as most authors don’t have that major effect on me. I fell in love with the way she portrayed her characters. Colleen has a crazy way of tying things together and just making them work so perfectly.. Something that seems like such a small detail turns out to be such an important thing. I love that about this story.

Likes & Dislikes:

The likes definitely overpower the dislikes. You know what? I can’t even think of a dislike. I’m sure you’ve heard it before, but this is Colleen’s best book. The one thing I’d just like to point out in the like department is how real it is. It doesn’t sugar coat things, it makes you feel deeply for the characters as if it were happening to you. Which it very well could.

Overall, I rate this book 5/5 stars, and I would rate it higher if I could. This book is definitely going to give me a book hangover.

That’s it for the review! Have you read this book? What did you think of it? If you haven’t, are you planning to?
